When we were both special education teachers, we enjoyed doing a variety of handcrafts. Bill has always especially loved woodworking. In fact, with our two sons, we built our home in Anchor Bay. After making much of the furniture for the new home, Bill wanted a new focus for woodworking. We researched about making birds houses-there are definite criteria for building the best habitats for birds. We only use redwood and/or cedar, no glues are used , and a fledgling ladder insures the young can leave the house. The houses are sized for common birds, and have the ability to be cleaned between occupants. Sue has the fun of hunting to find unique decorative items to adorn the houses.
